Week five share

Having loads of fun out here on the farm! The weather has been kind to us and we are grateful for that. We have a nice variety this week, hope you enjoy!

  • Packman Broccoli (We harvested these at peak ripeness, enjoy raw or lightly cooked)
  • Oregon Sugar Pod II (sliced and tossed with lemon juice and oil is all we need to enjoy these..or try a quick pan saute with a little garlic, tamari, and sesame oil)
  • Rainbow Chard (We eat loads of chard....Vitamin rich containing A,C, & K, as well as the B-vitamins. It is also rich source of minerals like copper, calcium, sodium, potassium, iron, manganese and phosphorus.
  • Perfected Detroit Beet ( We make a roasted beet salad with toasted walnuts, celery, and blue cheese. We also included the greens which should not be wasted....prepare as you would any other greens.
  • Mesclun Blend
  • Speckles Butterhead Lettuce ( An old Amish heirloom dating back hundreds of years)
  • Herbs (Basil/Cilantro/Parsley....we like fresh herbs in our eggs, or in a veggie omelet)
  • Rhubarb ( Try using rhubarb in a savory dish, it really likes pork.)
